Help! Differences in Felicity?

Can anyone briefly explain the differences in Felicity? Someone recently posted and said the new ones looked "spooky"? Why?

I am trying to get my brother's fiance into the dolls and she is trying to decide whether to purchase a Samantha or Felicity from the AG site or try to win a pre Mattel one from Ebay.

I don't think the new Felicitys look spooky at all. Her eyes look very normal and are in fact beautiful. My daughter has a new Felicity and I think anyone would be happy to have her. It is simply a difference in opinion. Personally I think the older Felciitys are ugly with the bright red hair, but again someone else might think they are beautiful. I have both pre-Mattel German dolls and new Mattel dolls and I really can't see a huge difference in them. If it is for someone else, I would always go for the brand new doll. There are too many problems that can come with the older dolls from ebay. If it is for myself I don't mind problems, but for someone else, it should be perfect.

I think the "spooky" doll was the fake one mentioned in Ria's thread about Nora's seller being back.

I plan to take pictures of my pre-Mattel Felicity next to one at AGP in two weeks, so hopefully that can help clear things up a little as far as differences go. (I just hope I can move around enough to get some good pictures. [img]wink.gif[/img] )

Yes, the "spooky" Felicity is a fake. She has a bit of a chipmunk look to her and her wig is totally skewed in the way it's placed on her head.

I have a new Felicity, and I LOVE HER!!!! So many people complain about her eyes, but to me they're her most wonderful feature. You can see a close-up of her in my sig banner.

Personally, I love my old Felicity best and sold my newer Felicity. But to each their own. Old Felicity (German) has a rounder face, coloring that is less white, brighter true red hair, and muted green eyes. You can see close-ups of my German Felicity in my "AG Girls" album in my signature. My pre-Mattel '98 Felicity (China made) had auburn hair, paler vinyl, and bright green eyes. I've heard the newest Mattel Felicitys have black eyelashes, which I personally wouldn't like because they wouldn't match her hair and eyebrows.

I thought my 1998 Felicity was very pretty, but I still loved the 1991 German Felicity my sister gave me better. I didn't need two, so one went to a new home. I think it's just personal preference for which coloring you like!

Thank you all very much! My future sister in law is having a hard time deciding between Felicity and Samantha. She originally liked the coloring of Felicity, but changed her mind when we saw the fakes and read the board preferences for the older Felicity.

We're still trying to figure out what to do as SIL wants to collect the furniture for whichever one she gets.
